Chapter 65: Tamer Guild Registration

Fie is flying around ¶, flying around ♩, flying around ♫, and we will catch her! This is fun! Fie is flying high ♫, flying high around! 

We all wanted to catch Fie, and Fie, being a playful cat, just ran around taunting us to catch him as best we could. Of course, we are all motivated to do so as we chase him around the neighborhood. I can tell we're actually getting further away from the church, but that's okay since Nar and Sas are actually looking at all of us. 

"A flying cat?" [Kat]

"My, what a unique cat" [Alice]

"Is it yours, sweetie?" [Linda]

"It's Fie!" [Diana]

"Fie? I thought Fie was a black cat, although he did smell like Fie" [Kat].

Fie ran to the adventure guild, and now the whole guild couldn't help but look at my beautiful, cute cat. As his owner, I am nothing but proud of him right now. I'm sure they're all jealous of me for having such a great cat.

They all gather to look at Fie. He's always changing the color of his fur. Sometimes it's red, sometimes it's a rainbow, sometimes it resembles the forest. I don't know why, but every time it does that, it emits mana that represents the color of the elements. For example, he just changed his color to light blue, and I can feel ice mana coming from him. I'm sure others can feel it as well.

"You should be careful now, little Diana" [Elegast]

"I'm sure others will be attracted to it and steal it from you" [Oreforged]

"Steal it! Why?" [Diana]

"Plenty of reasons. Sell it to a noble who likes exotic creatures, or believes it has special properties, or just wants to keep it as his own" [Savel]

When those three said that, I looked at other adventures. They agreed with them. The one with muscle before said that he knows few nobles who will pay high amount of money for collecting exotic monsters and animals. One of them is Marianne's older brother! I look at Alice and she confirms it twice. Then I look at Nar and Sas, and they triple confirm it! This is bad! I don't want to be separated from Fie!

"What should I do? What should I do?" [Diana]

"Calm down. We can fill out a form from the Tamer Guild" [Nar]

"Tamer Guild?" [Diana]

"It's a guild for a class called Tamer. Basically, they employ monsters and animals for their benefit. We'll make sure they know that Fie's owner is none other than you, so they can't LEGALLY take Fie away from us?" [Nar]

"Legally?" [Diana]

"It means that those bad guys can still take Fie away from you at any time" [Sas].

"That's terrible!" [Diana]

"Better than nothing. If Fie happens to be lost and someone finds him, they'll be obligated to return him to you" [Kat].

According to Alice and Kat, once we register Fie with the Tamer Guild, they will give Fie a special collar to prove that I am his master! The collar is magically bound and can't be destroyed easily. 

"What are we waiting for?" [Diana]

"Fine, let's go to the Tamer Guild" [Sas]

"Let's go, go, go!" [Diana]

After saying goodbye to everyone, the three of us hurry to take Fie to the Tamer Guild. On the way, no one can take their eyes off the wonderful sight of my cat Fie! Fie even emitted a holy light and was filled with holy mana.

"Malice? Did someone really want to steal Fie?" [Diana]

"Don't worry, we are here" (Is it an illegal hunter?) [Nar]

"Fie is our family, won't let anyone hurt him" (Tchh, I'll kill anyone who makes Diana and Fie sad) [Sas]

After a few minutes, the malicious intent was gone. I breathe a sigh of relief, and just a few blocks away is the Tamer Guild? Is it really a guild? It's not as big as the Merchant' Guild or the Adventurers' Guild. It's just another building. Still, there's a sign that says "Tamer Guild," and both Nar and Sas said this is the place, and as we enter the guild, there are a variety of monsters and animals that I've never seen before. A big bee with a stinger stronger than a sword, a five-headed snake, a golem made of steel, and there's even an egg with eyes all over it, but what caught my attention was

"Tio? Randy?" [Diana]

"Well, look who's here" [Randy]

"What are you doing here?" [Nar]

"Just accompanying Little Tio to register this special silkworm and Healer Slime" [Randy]

"Healer slime? That's rare" [Nar].

"But what about the special silkworm?" [Sas]

"Better to show it than explain it, I guess" [Randy].

Tio opens a cage that she brings with her. Huge! This silkworm is huge! It's as big as my arm! It's just... It's just...

"Strangely, it's cute! Even the slime next to it is cute!" [Diana]

"My guess is that they're friends, and since this slime is a healing slime, it somehow allows the silkworm to grow to such a large size, in exchange for the slime getting free silk as its food" [Tio].

"Cute! Their friendship is cute!" [Dian]

(She sure has a strange taste) [Nar, Sas, Randy]

According to Tio, she wanted to register her under her family name so that other nobles wouldn't just force them to give away such a useful monster. As for me, I explained to them what happened to Fie, and even Randy agrees that Fie is indeed an elemental cat. This caught everyone's attention, and even the guild master of the Tamer Guild couldn't help but examine Fie. The Large Silkworm was also examined by the Guild Master. 

I don't sense any ill intent on the part of the excited middle-aged guild master. In fact, I feel like he's a toddler who looks excited after receiving a new toy. It makes me happy to see him happy, too. At the end of the day, the guild master personally hands us the collar for our three friends. Before she go home, I invite Tio to my house, where we spend the afternoon playing and eating together.
