Chapter 59: Sleepover at Liya's place

I am angry. I am furious. I am disgusted with anger and it's equal. Maybe not berserk or amok, but I am definitely not okay with them treating me like a child! I helped them subdue a chimera, so why are they treating me like this!

"Here's your chocolate muffin, kids" [Duke's wife].

"MUFFIN!" [Diana]

(And you ask them to stop treating you like a child, look at you now...) [Liya]

After our subjugation on the Chimera, I asked Randy to accompany me to the nearby hideout. I thought he would agree, and yet the betrayal I felt during that time was heartbreaking. It broke me to pieces, and when I tried to escape with the Hanging Treant, another unwarranted betrayal happened as the Hanging Treant gladly handed me over to Master Merlin. I simply teleported out and tried to go there myself, but Master Merlin and Linda, who specialized in space magic, caught me in the blink of an eye. Of course, Tiara and Kat were then tasked with getting me home safely. I tried to gamble and asked Nar and Sas, telling them what had happened, and now here I am.

"Diana, what do you usually play at home?" [Duke's wife]

"Hmm... Practice?" [Diana]

"What dear mother meant is, what do you do in your spare time?" [Liya]

"Hmm... Walking in the forest with Fie, catching bugs, fighting beetles with the neighbor's kids, fishing, rubbing Fie's belly with my face, playing with Kat's tail, listening to adventure stories, watching Neloufa's performance at the local theater, trying to sneak into the Master Smith's chamber, playing with Kara and Mara, and... Too much, why do you ask?" [Diana]

"It's surprisingly varied. Here I am, thinking you're a tomboyish girl" [Duke's wife].

Liya's mother proceeds to take his collection of different dresses. There's a traditional dress of this kingdom, the one that empire usually wear, then there's one from a western and eastern far. She seems proud with her collection and look eager to try it... Expect the size to fit perfectly for me, but I am looking forward to it as well! This will be a good vent for my frustration of not following Nar and Sas to explore the hideout!

I quickly undressed, for which Liya is the one who scolded me, but her mother didn't say anything. In fact, she just smiled and quickly took the first dress. A yellow dress with ruffles and a long skirt. A nice hat too. She keeps commenting on how good I look, which makes me happy.

"Jean and Liya are too busy studying and training, so I hardly have time to play dress up with them.

"Then I will fulfill your wish today!" [Diana]

"Really! Then how about we go to a nearby shop afterwards!" [Duke's wife]

"Sounds like fun!" [Diana]

"I'll tell my husband about it. He seems eager to join you as well" [Duke's wife].

(Sorry for not playing with you, but it was tiring, especially after a long day of studying and training...) [Liya]

After an hour had passed and the Duke himself had arrived, the four of us went out together. I simply wore the first dress that Liya's mother had chosen. The four of us, using the Duke's carriage, went out for a little afternoon tea at a local cafe. It looks extravagant, and the staff there seems to recognize the three of them. They are high-ranking nobles after all, I'm sure their faces are a must for places that serve nobles.

"Duck! I want a fried duck!" [Diana]

"The portion, it's an adult one, can you finish it?" [Liya]

"Fufu, don't underestimate my stomach." [Diana]

"Just tell us when you feel full, no need to force yourself" [Duke]

"Will do!" [Diana]

And we spend our afternoon with me telling them about school and stuff. I also told them how I helped Randy defeat the Chimera. It gets my heart pumping and makes me angry again for the betrayal that was done to me.

At the end of the day I got a message from Nar and Sas via a soldier telling me that they will not be able to come home today. I thought about just going back and sleeping at my house, but

"How about staying with me?" [Liya]

"REALLY! I CAN DO THAT!" [Diana]

"OF COURSE! Liya, I'll sleep with both of you tonight!" [Duke's wife]

"So it's the three of us! Yay!" [Diana]

(With mother... I guess I have to... So embarrassing...) [Liya]

I wonder, did something happen?
