Chapter 32: Adventure Guild part 1

After yesterday's incident, we should go to the Adventure Guild today, but not before.

"Thank you, teacher Ledang, for teaching us" [Neloufa].

"You're welcome, dear sweetie" [Ledang].

Since Neloufa is supposed to attend a school for nobles, Nar and Sas think that she will benefit from having private lessons from Teacher Ledang as well. I'm not sure how, but I'm sure there's nothing wrong with that. Even Teacher Ledang agrees to teach her.

"Are you three ready?" [Head Maid]

"We're just finishing, Mahsuri" [Ledang]

"Hmm..." [Neloufa]

"These two are siblings" [Diana]

"No wonder they look alike!" [Neloufa]

Head Maid Mahsuri and Teacher Ledang, to be exact, are step siblings, born to different mothers, and yet they're close to each other. They may not talk to each other much, but I have the feeling that they're as close as Nar is to Sas.

Their strict personalities, the way they talk and even the way they walk, it almost feels like they're twins, but they're 2 years apart in age.

"All right, your brothers must be waiting at the carriage. Let us hurry" [Ledang].

"Then, if you'll excuse me, I'll go home first" [Neloufa]

"Bye, see you tomorrow" [Diana]

"See you" [Neloufa].

"How about we send you home first. I'm sure Master Nar and Sas won't mind" [Head Maid].

"Is that okay with all of you?" [Neloufa]

"Of course!" [Diana]

We send Neloufa home first. On the way we talk a lot, especially about what we will do when school starts. She wishes there would be enough time for her to practice her dancing, for which Teacher Ledang and the Head Maid Mahsuri mentioned that there's something called a cultural club she could join to further hone her skills. This makes her very excited. Even Nar encourages her to join the club, saying it will be a good experience. As for me

"Sounds like extra work, I'll just go back home" [Diana].

"You're right" [Sas]

"Don't encourage her!" [Nar]

After saying goodbye to Neloufa once again, we went to the Adventure Guild. What kind of place is the Adventure guild? Back in Aru Village, I always heard how they despised adventurers, calling them all horrible names and cursing them from time to time, so I'm not sure what to expect. However, I do know that these four, Nar, Sas, Mahsuri, and Ledang, were once adventurers. Nar and Sas are S-rank adventurers, while Mahsuri and Ledang manage to reach B-rank for a short while before changing their professions.

If I'm remembering it correctly, the ranks are as follow

SS - Saga, only one person can hold the title at one time

S - legend

A - Expert

B - veteran

C - Experience

D - average

E - learned

F - novice

G - learner

H, I - newbies

"Is something wrong?" [Nar]

"I'm just wondering what rank I will be if I join the guild." [Diana]

"Let me see. Your mana capacity is definitely at least that of an A-class adventurer. Even the way you manipulate spells is A-rank" [Nar]

"Wow! I am that strong!" [Diana]

"However, you are lacking in many areas, from physical to social to critical thinking" [Nar]

"Although, to be fair, that's because you're just a kid. So, H-rank it is" [Sas].

"That low..." [Diana]

"Don't be discouraged, if anything, you're definitely stronger than most of your peers" [Head Maid]

"I'm sure magic will be your strong point in school and in life" [Ledang].

If they said so, but now I wonder

"Is the saga stronger than all of you?" [Diana]

"Urgh..." [Sas]

"The trauma" [Nar]

"Huh?" [Diana]

"I wonder, when she meets the young lady here, will she pamper her instead, or will she go straight to the terrible training you two once had" [Mahsuri].

"You two know the saga!" [Diana]

"Know is a weak word" [Nar]

"Fufu, that is indeed true. Miss Khamisah was once their mentor, no, I will correct myself, she is maybe even more than a mere mentor" [Ledang].

"Wow! How is she?" [Diana]

"Well..." [Nar]

Just as Nar is about to tell me about The Saga

"Is that Miss Kat! Miss Kat!" [Diana].

"Oh Diana, wait, don't come rushing straight at me! [Kat]

I saw Miss Kat carrying some groceries towards a big building. I might get too excited since I fly straight at her and start hugging her. She gladly hugs me back after making sure the groceries are all safe and sound.

"Looks like we arrived" [Sas]
