Chapter 23: Helping Kara and Mara part 8

"JEAN!" [Kara, Mara, Diana]

Jean, stabbed in the back by that rude looking guy, even his look at Jean is something that makes me angry. Whoever he is, I can't bear to be around him. It's disgusting.

"To finish the job properly" [Gilbert].

He tries to stab Jean in the back again, this time aiming for her neck. This guy is serious. Even the guards feel a shiver run down their spines, though they keep cheering him on.

"Giant earth hammer!" [Diana]

With my wand raised, I quickly activate a spell and aim it directly over the rude-looking guy, aiming for his head and hoping to crush him.

"Good, but not enough to take me down" [Gilbert].

A moment of distraction is created as he uses a metal shield spell and raises his hand to block my earthhammer attack. A perfect opportunity for me to pull Jean into the light barrier. With an earth spell I move Jean as fast as I can and drag her across the ground. It's rough, but it's the best I can do for now.

Not wanting to give them an advantage, I began to create a poisonous fog and used a wind spell to direct the poisonous fog toward them. As someone from this village, I'm sure I know a lot about poison, so I created a poison strong enough to knock out even a mammoth. I can withstand it, but the reason I used a wind spell and directed it at those bad guys is because I'm sure Jean, Kara and Mara will suffer serious effects.

"My skin! It's burning"

"My throat. Cough"

"Help, I can't breath"

"Purification! Put up a purification spell!"

"Tchh, like those annoying heroes" [Gilbert]

That rude looking guy put a purification wall between us. Any mist that passes through the wall becomes nothing more than clean air. He is a bad guy, but I am amazed by his magic. I can tell that he is good.

"Sir Gilbert, why did you do this!" [Mara]

"Please, explain yourself" [Kara]

"Why should I? All you need to know is that you two must die, so that false queen will suffer and then we will..." [Gilbert]

"Iron sword!" [Diana]

He's distracted by the conversation, and I can't help but use a metal spell to forge it into the shape of a sword, similar to the ones the Nar always use, and aim it at his abdomen.

Some of the sword manages to pierce his abdomen, as evidenced by the spurting blood, but he's also quick to react. I'm not sure what spell he used, but the sword stopped the moment it pierced his skin. I'm sure I shot it with enough speed to pierce his entire body.

"YOU BASTARD BRAT!" [Gilbert]

"Diana..." [Kara, Mara]

What? I can understand the guy's anger, but why are Kara and Mara looking at me like that? They're looking at me like I'm some kind of uncivilized girl from a swamp area. I am a girl from a swamp area, but that look is unwarranted because I am trying to protect all four of us.

"DIE!" [Gilbert]

He fires a great fire spell that burns and shatters my barrier at once. The spell is so powerful that even the wall behind us is blown away.

"Barrier of Light" "Barrier of Water" "Barrier of Stone" [Diana]

"Pathetic! Just rot and die!" [Gilbert]

A second shot. I don't think my barrier is strong enough this time. I used a body enhancement spell and raised my defense, becoming a human shield to protect Jean, Kara and Mara from the spell.

"Tchh. What's with the dress..." [Gilbert]

My favorite dress protected me. Still, I can't forgive him for trying to kill us as I glare at him and prepare to fire a spell.

"You stare. You dare to stare at me!" [Gilbert]

He lunges at me and kicks me in the cheek. It hurts, but

"Heh... Those guys from Aru Village are tougher" [Diana].

"You barbarian! Just die and become a devil..." [Gilbert]

As he tries to swing his spear, his entire hand, from the shoulder down to the fingers, every joint is cut by no other.

"What do you think you're doing to our little sister?" [Nar]

"NAR!" [Diana]

"SIR NAR!!" [Kara, Mara]
