Chapter 12: Black cat

Kara and Mara are with Nar and Sas, and it looks like they're trying to hide. According to Jean and Liya, since they are royalty, there will be several people trying to take the opportunity if they find out they're not in the castle, and usually for a bad reason.

"Boo... I'll protect you if that happens" [Diana].

I guess being a princess isn't as sweet as most people think. To begin with, someone tried to poison them, and then there are the curse. I feel sorry for them and I can't stress that enough.

"Thank you, we appreciate it" [Kara]

"Having a friend likes you really are nice" [Mara]

"Me too!" [Diana]

We start the lunch with a small cup of tea, but I don't like it, so I wanted to order something sweet, but the thing is

(I can't read...) [Diana]

And it looks like I am the only one here who cannot read. I wanted to ask them to read me the menu, but I can imagine Nar and Sas making fun of me. No! Absolutely Not! Come on my all mighty fairy blessing! Do something in this situation!

""Is something wrong?" [Kara]

"We're friends, you can tell us" [Mara]

"You look upset" [Liya]

"Do you want to pee?" [Sas]

"NO!" [Diana]

"Sas, mind your language!" [Jean]

Oh, now they're really going to find out! What should I do?

"Diana, I think you should try this chocolate drink. They're so sweet, and if you take these churros and drink through them, your mouth will feel heavenly!" [Nar]

"Really!" [Diana]

"What, you don't believe me? How about I order them and you try them first. If you don't like it, I can just drink it for you" [Nar]

"Really! Really! Then I'll just order it!" [Diana]

"As for the main course, how about..." [Nar]

Looks like Brother Nar saved the day for me. Without waiting for him to finish, I just walked over and asked him what else he recommended. He tells me the list of good things here, but the one that caught my attention is

"How about this fish dish? It's my favourite here because of its sweet and sour taste. It also uses some flower herb to make it tastier. The fish is soft and boneless" [Sas]

"Sure!" [Diana]

A good fish dish, I wanted to try it.

(I see now. Nar and Sas are surprisingly good at noticing it) [Jean]

"What's wrong big sis? Why are you giggling?" [Liya]

"Nothing" [Jean]

And so we eat our lunch, talking about the festival in between. They've all got good table manners, as evidenced by the fact that I'm the only one who gets scolded by Jean for my table manners. Nar and Sas also did the same thing, like talking while eating, and yet why am I the only one who gets scolded?

"That's not fair" [Diana].

"Sometimes I just gave up trying to make Nar and Sas behave" [Jean].

"You should really try to correct your table manners, Mr Nar and Mr Sas" [Mara].

"True, otherwise other nobles will belittle you" [Kara]

"Doesn't care" [Nar, Sas].

"So cool!" [Diana]

"IT IS NOT!" [Jean]

After lunch we went back out to see the festival. There's supposed to be a dance performance tonight, so we're all killing time by visiting one shop after another. Kara and Mara have the same reaction as me, which makes it a lot of fun! They are enjoying this festival to the despite their condition.

(There's nothing strange or useful to help the princesses) [Nar]

(Perhaps we hope too much) [Jean]

(Better than doing nothing) [Sas]

(Agreed. Besides, seeing the princesses behaving like children of their age is good enough. I'm sure Her Highness will be delighted to see her twin smile now) [Jean]

They're talking about something, could it be

"Are you talking about the people who are following us?" [Diana]

"Huh?" [Liya, Kara, Mara]

"If you mean those guys, don't worry, those are the royal guards who blend in to protect the princesses" [Sas]

"I see, but I still feel uncomfortable" [Diana]

"What to do. Just bear with it" [Nar]

"Wait, wait, wait! How come you can spot them so easily?" [Jean]

"I just... use my magic?" [Diana]

"Our little Vars is really talented." [Nar, Sas]

"I'M DIANA!" [Diana]

As I was about to punch the two annoying heroes for calling me a name I still disagree with, a strange black cat came and meowed at me. It's not strange because of its appearance, no, it looks just like any other cat, but maybe because the cat has some magic with it? Like, the eyes of the cats, it feels like there is some kind of magic in it.

(Spy?) (Sas)

(Something strange Sas?) [Nar]

(I can sense the clairvoyance magic in the cat's eyes. It is weak and I can only detect it because of Diana) [Sas]

"Then we should..." [Nar]

"MEOW!" [Cat]

The cat regurgitates a green stone with a strange mark from its stomach into my hand and runs away as fast as it can!

"GROSS!" [Diana]

Well, not the worst thing I have ever touched, but still gross.

"Just what is this stone..." [All]

We all have mixed feelings about the cat and the stone.
