Chapter 11: Fun at the festival

Kidnapped

I am now in an unfamiliar house, with an unfamiliar table and chair, an unfamiliar sweet breakfast of chocolate cereal and a glass of milk, with an unfamiliar spoon in my hand.

"Make sure you don't spill any of it" [Sas].

"Look who's talking!" [Nar]

Sitting with the one who kidnapped me without my consent and gave me a new family name.

"What's the matter, Diana Vars, don't you like the sweet cereal we brought you?" [Nar]

One of the kidnappers asked sincerely. The cereal and milk are fine, but

"I'm just Diana!" [Diana]

"Of course, young lady Vars" [Nar, Sas].

The two kidnappers, knowing how well I didn't accept the name, said while barely holding back their evil laughter.

I have been told of the meaning of this name. Apparently, Vars was the name of this land before Aunt Amleth took the throne. She simply changed the name of the land because of how corrupt the previous king was. It's still a good country according to Nar and Sas, but the people and Aunt Amleth can't just turn a blind eye, especially when there were rumors that the previous king wanted to sell the country to the Empire.

This cereal is good" [Sas].

Sas said as she took the cereal from my bowl and ate it without a second doubt.

"Hey!" [Diana]

"Yeah, it's good all right" [Nar]

Nar does the same

"Haaa!" [Diana]

My two annoying kidnappers, now known as Nar Vars and Sas Vars, are really annoying.

After finishing breakfast, Jean knocked before Nar told her to come in.

"You're still not in your new house?" [Jean]

"There's still some paperwork to be done. Also, the cleaning is only half done according to the cleaner" [Nar].

"You said you wanted to bring Diana to the festival, right? Go to the castle first, make sure the documents are all settled, in the meantime I will accompany Diana" [Jean].

"Yes! Goodbye Mr. Kidnapper!" [Diana]

"It's your brother! Say sorry now! [Jean]

"Meany" [Diana]

I get ready very quickly. Jean says I should tie my hair up properly first, but I don't want to. I like to leave my hair as it is, it feels especially good when the wind is blowing through it.

""Well, we go first" [Nar]

"Time to finish the document" (And bring the princesses to the festival) [Sas]

"Bye and have fun" [Diana]

"Don't give Jean any trouble" [Nar]

"Or anyone for that matter" [Sas]

"I won't!" [Diana]

Together with Jean, I picked out a purple colored dress to match her, and when I walked out.

"Oh, so you must be Diana. Nice to meet you" [?]

"Little Jean? Is Jean your big sister?" [Diana]

"She is. I am Liya, nice to meet you" [Liya]

"Nice to meet you too!" [Diana]

Liya almost looks like Jean. She's shorter and her hair is shorter compared to Jean. Apparently, she's 5 years younger than Jean.

The three of us walk together and we stop at every single booth available! There are tons of fun games I've never tried before, and even a store that sells lots of great looking food. It's lively and words can't describe how I feel right now. I run from stall to stall, and each one greets me with a smile.

"Oh, you're the one who was in the Queen's carriage yesterday."

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to play with Jean and Liya" [Diana].

The onlookers, upon hearing about Jean, have mixed reactions

"My goodness, it's the great knight Jean! It's an honor to meet you"

"Tchh, that girl who betrayed the Church"

Jean, however, does not seem to mind. She just has a nice chat with the stall owner while trying a game of darts. She's good at it and gets the prize of a small teddy bear, which she gives to Liya.

"Thanks, I'll add it to my collection" [Liya].

"How nice!" [Jean]

"Don't worry, I plan to buy one for you later" [Jean]

"Yeah!" [Diana]

"Let's choose the fluffiest one for you!" [Liya]

"Let's go go go" [Diana]

We continue our walk, and it feels like Jean is looking intensely at every corner.

(If what Nar said yesterday is true, and if it really is fate that brought Diana here, then hopefully, by some miracle, there's something that will help us heal the princesses) [Jean].

"You look pale?" [Diana]

"Something wrong big sis?" [Liya]

"No... nothing" [Jean]

The clock is ticking and before I knew it, the evening had come and we stopped at a cafe that Jean had specifically chosen. It looks very expensive, it's bigger than others and the people inside are dressed very nicely. Apparently Jean, Nar and Sas chose this place to meet, and speaking of Nar and Sas, they're together with

"Kara, Mara!" [Diana]

This is going to be fun, now that there are seven of us! I do wonder, is it okay to let them go out?
